“I noticed that SIRP is good from the time it arrived in this area. SIRP taught me good agricultural practices such as cattle and goat management. I was given a superior breed which I’m crossing with my goats. I now have improved goat breed. Normally I sell 7 goats per year which gives me about US$210. Through the proceeds, I managed to buy chickens and a motorbike. This was achieved through SIRP intervention.

I also bought a motorbike which cost about US$1370. I also bought the scotch cart that you are seeing at R7000. The solar panel there costed R1300. I also renovated the house you are seeing. I have numerous poultry species which I accrued through the proceeds from goats. I sell an average of 10 chickens per year at US$5 which gives me a total of US$50. I’m now able to pay school fees for my children. One of them is doing Form 4 at Checheche High School, while the other one is doing Form 1 at Pimhi Secondary School. The youngest is in Grade 6 at Matezwa Primary School. I learnt a lot from SIRP which includes NRM, GAPs and FAAB. Through lessons from FAAB, I realized that farming is a lucrative business”.
