Members of the Kuwirirana PPE group at Insukamini Irrigation Scheme in Midlands, which benefitted under the Rural Poor Stimulus Facility (RPSF) have hailed the project for transforming their lives. The group, which was trained in 2021 said they produce foam bath, sanitiser, dish washing liquid and petroleum jelly which they sell to the local market.

Chairperson of the group, Mrs Sihle Dube said the 33-member group was doing well in the production and marketing of form bath, dish wash, Vaseline and toilet cleaners. The group managed to buy pots for each member with the profits from the sale of their products. She said, “We are grateful to SIRP for this support. As members, we managed to buy pots for each of the 33 members. We are now looking for a bigger working space, so that we can produce on a larger scale because we have set aside some money from our sales.”

“We are also working on branding our products and the stickers are already available. This will help us supply our products to retail shops in the area as well as in Gweru”

The RPSF facility was extended to women’s groups in SIRP’s provinces of operation to cushion farmers against the COVID 19 pandemic.insukamini women 1
